About Me

I am a lifelong athlete and, it seems, academic. I love learning; and being an athlete is part of my DNA. Figure skating was my first athletic career, and I was privileged enough to be able to compete at the highest level. This was not without its struggles, like moving away from home at 15 years old to train in another state, but I learned what I was able to do with a bit of persistence (*cough*, stubbornness) and unwavering support from my parents and family. Shout out to my mom, who still cheers me on at competitions.
Although my figure skating career ended after I fell just short of qualifying for the 2010 Olympics, my love of learning took me to Columbia University and a job working with the top clients at the auction house, Sotheby’s. I started fencing alongside my child in 2022, and, while she moved on to other sports, I fell in love with the sport. Going from a technical sport to a tactical sport has been an interesting journey so far. And a journey is what I think it’s all about. I’m still on mine, and I hope I can help you on yours!
“No one can do it. But then you expand. You think you can’t do it, and you do it anyway.”
